The Ducati Monster Tour visits Rivington Hall Barn
The Monster Tour has been blazing a trail through some of the most beautiful settings in UK and Europe this summer as
bikers test ride the new Monster 696.
The Monster 696 has now arrived at Ducati Stores around UK and Europe and to coincide with this Ducati UK welcomes the
Ducati Monster Tour a live and interactive roadshow departing from Bologna in Italy and travelling the breadth of England
in order to give the public a unique opportunity to test ride the new Monster 696.
A large 14 metre bespoke truck has been commissioned especially for the tour and consists of three floors and includes
a hospitality area for those taking part in the test rides. The event truck also has an area dedicated to Ducati apparel and
the new 2008 collection.
The latest UK leg of the tour will visit the famous biker meet at Rivington Hall Barn in Lancashire on the 12th/13th
July. This venue is regarded locally as the ‘original bikers mecca in the North West of England’ and is known
throughout the region as a popular bikers meeting place.
A local Ducati dealer will also be on hand to deal with any sales enquiries or book further test rides back at their
dealership.
Anyone who is interested in a Ducat Monster Tour can apply in person at the truck, by registering their name (they must
submit both parts of their driving licence, which is also used as proof that the applicant is over 21).The participants will
then be divided into small groups and escorted on a 30-minute ride by two official Ducati testers around some of the best
roads in the local vicinity.
Dates, locations and further information on the Ducati Monster Tour is available at:

At an age when most are looking forward to putting their final year of school behind them and relaxing, 16 year old mini-moto
ace Grant Villette is aiming to step up the pace in the world of two wheeled motorsport.
Having only started riding mini-motos in 2005 he is now regularly winning races in the MMRA British Championship and
he is looking to move up from mini-motos to Metrakit bikes next year before a full assault on GP250 racing the year after.
"I realise that very few youngsters get the chance to achieve their dreams but I am determined to show thatI
have what it takes to succeed at the highest level," he said.
"If with me trying it also encourages youngsters currently riding illegally on the streets to take their
bikes to a proper track and see what it is really about then that is a bonus"
He also knows that the financial backing required to take him to his goals is beyond what his parents Peter and
Sue could possibly commit to. Therefore, he hopes that continued success will also bring with it further sponsorship.
He already has the backing of successful British aftermarket accessory manufacturer Metmachex Engineering who
are supplying him with their new MMR08 machine and he races under the Fast Forward Racing banner, a team committed to taking
him 'all the way'.
But additional backing is required to fulfil his potential. Even this grass-roots form of racing is expensive at a competitive
level and to compete successfully next season will cost him around £10,000.
And don't forget, one of Grants heros was once a mini-moto star... Mr Valentino Rossi!
NHS Organ Donor Register
Ok, its not the sort of thing any of us want to think about but just take a minute to consider
this.....what if it was you waiting for a lifesaving transplant? Wouldn't you want everyone to be registered?
Transplants are one of the most miraculous achievements of modern medicine. But they depend entirely
on the generosity of donors and their families who are willing to make this life-saving or life-enhancing gift to others.
One donor can save the life of several people, restore the sight of two others and improve the quality
of life of many more. The more people who pledge to donate their organs and tissue after their death, the more people stand
to benefit. By choosing to join the NHS Organ Donor Register you could help to make sure life goes on for many others.
Joining the register records your agreement to the use of your organs and tissue for transplantation
after your death.
When you register it is important that you tell those closest to you about your decision.
To decide whether or not you wish to become a donor after you have died is something
very personal and it is important that everyone makes their own decision.

Anyone remember the 'big Kat' from the early 80's?
The Suzuki GSX1100S Katana was the bike that revolutionised motorcycling in the UK. With its futuristic styling it was years ahead of the rest.
This is the bike that all little boys dreamt of owning (including me!)
Heres something you may not of known.......
In 2005 Suzuki planned to produce a new Katana but this time with a 6 cylinder motor and 180bhp.
Pictured below is the concept bike.... look familiar?
I for one would have bought one!

There are still a few original Katanas about and you can occasionally find them popping
up on ebay. I would imagine that a good, standard bike will still set you back a couple of quid!
